Christine's Story

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2020 I was devastated. As someone who thought they were doing everything right – exercising, eating well – it took some time to understand how this could have happened to me. I dug deep though, and decided I would face this head on and try to wear a brave face for my children.

When my doctor told me that the chemotherapy would cause me to lose my hair, I was shattered. I already felt like I had lost a part of myself to my surgery, and I was determined not to lose any more. I started researching and soon learned about cold capping - specifically about Penguin Cold Caps - which has helped thousands of women keep their hair. I had hope.

I tried Penguin Cold Caps and was absolutely thrilled at how well it worked. I kept over 75% of my hair and anyone who didn’t know my diagnosis had no idea what I was going through. My children weren’t faced with a constant reminder of my illness, and I was happy that at times they could forget what we were all going through.

My husband and I launched Penguin Cold Caps Canada in 2020 to help raise the Canadian awareness of scalp cooling and the benefits of using the original and most successful cold capping system in the world.
